Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has condemned the attack on journalists by NASA goons during the alliance parliamentary group meeting at Wiper Headquarters on Tuesday.
Duale claims that the attack on journalists by NASA goons confirms that the alliance that recently transformed itself to a National Resistance Movement (NRM) is a militia group.
He alleged that NRM evil and its savage agenda for violence is becoming evident every day.
The National Assembly Leader of Majority said that NRM should be investigated and its agenda exposed.
“The despicable attack on innocent media personalities by NRM confirms what we have been saying all along,” Duale said in a post on his Twitter account.
Duale claimed that NRM leaders are thriving on threats a move he claimed is calculated at causing instability in the country.
The attack on Citizen TV’s political reporter Francis Gachuri and NTV’s camera-person Jane Gatwiri has been strongly condemned. The two were among a battery of journalists who were covering NASA Parliamentary group meeting at Wiper Headquarters in Nairobi on Tuesday.
They have been advised to make formal complaints with the police with ICT Cabinet Secretary (CS) Joe Mucheru saying that action will be taken against the goons.
NASA leader Raila Odinga condemned the incident and apologized to attacked journalists and the media house their media houses,
Raila said that the purported goons were not invited to the meeting adding that he will follow up to ensure action is taken against them.
Journalists across the country have been under threat while covering election events prior to and during the August 8 general election and also the recently concluded October 26 repeat presidential election.
