Majority leader Hon Aden Duale has said that he will make a proposal to the house to make amendments that shall allow citizens without university degrees to run for Parliamentary posts next year.Speaking in Nairobi, Duale stated that amendments should be done on the proposed Election Laws Amendment Bill that currently bars Kenyans without degrees from vying for elective parliamentary seats. We want Kenyans to go to class, yes, but we similarly do not want to block prospective leaders from participating in the 2017 polls. We want the proposed law to have a grace period until 2022 for it to be fully  implemented,' the leader said. However, Duale insisted that a degree shall be a legal requirement during the 2022 elections. The new developments is expected to be bad news to several sitting MPs who have been on the forefront pushing for the law in a bid to lock out opponents from participating in next year’s general elections.
