National Majority Leader Aden Duale has called upon the opposition to drop plans to stop the fresh election. Speaking during Jubilee rally in Garissa, Duale said that National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga is no longer looking for power but to disrupt the peaceful nation.
The lawmaker, who has been a strong critic of the opposition, said that time has come for the leaders and their supporters to stop holding the nation hostage.
Duale reminded Raila, who is taking a fourth stab at the nations stop seat, that Kenyans are entitled to vote, adding that calls to boycott the exercise clearly shows that he is an ‘enemy of the people.’
“Raila Odinga and his troops must leave Kenyans to vote peacefully on October 26 and stop disturbing the peace we (Kenyans) are enjoying,” he said.
The sentiments of the lawmaker come at a time when the leaders of the opposition have maintained that they will not take part in the rerun unless their demands are met.
The leaders want the IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials thought to have had a hand in the bungled general election dismissed with immediate effect.
