National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale has said his next agenda after the elders endorsed him for the Garissa Township MP is to seek votes from non-residents in Garissa County.
Duale said non-locals living in Garissa County should elect him in the August 8 polls so he can propel the constituency to greater heights of development.
Speaking in Garissa town, Duale urged non-locals and the area residents to re-elect him based on his track records.
The Garissa Township MP said that Garissa Town being a cosmopolitan and the gateway to Northeastern brings together people from different tribes and religions and it needs a leader who can ensure that residents are united and peace is maintained.
“Next on my agenda will be to meet non-Somali communities residing in the area in a bid to consolidate my support. I have a strong development track record and I should be re-elected based on it,” he said.
Duale said Garissa residents will vote back the Jubilee administration because of the projects it has launched in the entire North Eastern.
“The youth, women, religious leaders, professionals and elders have unanimously reaffirmed their support for the Jubilee administration based on its achievements,” he added.
Elders and opinion leaders from 18 sub-clans have endorsed Mr Duale to defend his seat on a Jubilee ticket in the August 8 polls.
