National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving him a chance to serve as the majority leader in the National Assembly.

President Uhuru endorsed Duale for the second term in the position on Wednesday during a meeting at State House.

"The work we began is not complete. We will use this opportunity to complete the remaining tasks. Asante (Thank you very much) Uhuru and [Deputy President William] Ruto," Duale said through his  Twitter account.

Duale said they have realised significant achievements under his leadership and with the support of Jubilee members.

"I promise to continue championing the Jubilee agenda of transforming this nation. I will always uphold the Constitution and the rule of law in discharging the duties of my office," he said.

"I thank Uhuru and Ruto for their trust in me as the National Assembly majority Leader for a second term."

On Thursday, both parliaments resumed with the agenda being searing in and voting of speakers. In the National Assembly Justin Muturi was re-elected while Ken Lusaka was voted as the Speaker of the Senate.
