The National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale accused the Opposition's Cord coalition, of attempting to hack systems of the electoral agency, IEBC, to rig elections in August.
Below is Duale's statement issued March 11:
''It all makes perfect sense now.
The whole noise about rigging of August elections by CORD (NASA) leaders was meant to divert attention.
It was a plot to hoodwink Kenyans to look the other way when indeed the Opposition leaders were the busy attempting to interfere with the election.
It is outrageous that a top CORD leader, who has been at the forefront of claiming that Jubilee would rig the elections, is linked to repeated attempts to infiltrate the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission database through hacking.
Nothing can be more bizarre and criminal than attempting to subvert democracy to suit a few power hungry individuals.
We DEMAND answers to the following questions:
Who is the CORD politician? Who is he working with locally and internationally? Was the politician also involved in the hacking of banks and whether proceeds of crime are being used to finance his and CORD's campaign activities.
Attempts to hack into the IEBC database is criminal and those mentioned must be arrested.
We further ask for a full investigation by relevant parliamentary committees and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on this matter.
The electoral motives and objectives of the CORD Coalition is now evident and out there for Kenyans to see.
CORD (NASA) is aware it will lose the elections and are doing anything and everything to tamper and de-legitimise the election.
This is not the first time individuals in CORD and now NASA, have attempted shortcuts to get power.
We must stop these individuals now before they cause the country any suffering.
Aden Duale Majority Leader National Assembly.''
