National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has blasted former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru for apparently linking Deputy President William Ruto to the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.
Without mentioning names, Duale said that Waiguru was being used to implicate DP Ruto in the scandal, warning her to leave the Deputy President alone.
“We know who you are working for. DP Ruto is an important pillar in Jubilee and you should give him space to serve Kenyans,” Duale was quoted by Citizen Digital.
“Ruto does not play in the in the same team and league as you. You were in our team and we gave you an opportunity but you squandered it by being involved in corruption,” said Duale in his speech at KICC in Nairobi on Sunday.
He further stated that in an attempt to clear her name, Waiguru should desist from dragging Ruto’s name into the scandal.
Duale, who was among those who stood by Waiguru when Opposition coalition CORD called for her resignation of the NYS scandal, has seemingly changed his tune after Waiguru linked DP Ruto’s personal assistant Farouk Kibet to the scandal.
