Aden Duale's Thursday's congratulatory messages for the re-election of of Egypt's president Abdul Fattah al-Sisi attracted attacks and criticisms from his twitter followers.
"Congratulations to Egypts's President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi for his re-election for a second four-year term. My best wishes for the continued happiness and prosperity of your country and its people," said Duale through his twitter account.
However, this message did not go down well with some of his followers who seemed to be creating a negative perception of Duale in relation to the endorsement of Sisi's re-election.Some of his twitter followers even went ahead to call him a tyrant in relation to his his message.
"Tyrants recognising each other," posted Mouhdin, one of his follower.
Another following saw Duale's message as one way of advocating for impunity in Kenya following the Egypt election that was marred with controversies.
"Congratulating Al-sisi is advocating 4 the highest impunity on this land," retweeted Mohamed Bin Ebrahim.
"Exactly what we have in Kenya. Dictatorship!" retweeted Durows in response to Duale's congratulatory tweet.
al-Sisi was re-elected in an electioneering period characterised with claims of security and administrative practices that the current regime took to prevent any fair competition in the concluded elections.
