Pressure continues to mount on the National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale to step aside and clear his name.
This come after the Legislator was mentioned by the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru on the National Youth Service (NYS) scam.
Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong’i said Duale is now a tainted person and does not inspire confidence in the Legislators he purports to lead in parliament.
He said as a representative of the government in the National Assembly, the Garissa Township MP should take a sabbatical leave and step aside from his influential position to allow for investigations on his alleged involvement in the NYS scam.
Speaking to the press after a meeting between Kisii Central District representatives and newly created Kitutu South District Representatives at Nyanchwa, the legislator said Duale’s credibility was too low and he should let another person occupy the position until such a time that he clears his name.
He said instead of running to the media, the Majority leader should have availed the true information to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
“Let Duale answer to the accusations leveled against him by the former CS through proper channels not through the press by issuing threats,” said Tong'i.
