Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings on Tuesday,  Mutula said that Duale has no business commenting on senate affairs and that he should concentrate on his duties in the National Assembly.

The Makueni senator said that Duale’s attack on Baringo senate Gideon Moi for convening senate Information Communication Technology (ICT) committee meeting to probe government move that saw some TV stations shut down on January 30, during Raila Odinga’s inauguration as the people’s president is uncalled for.

He said that as the senate ICT committee chair, Moi has every right to summon ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru to shed light on the 10 days TV shut down early this month.

“Duale should respect the Senate and stop intruding into its affairs,” he said on Tuesday.

The Makueni senator said that January  30  TV shut down is  matter of national importance, adding that the ICT CS must  honour the committee summons.

On Monday, Duale told off Moi for summoning CS Mucheru accusing him (Moi) of conflict of interest.

The Garissa lawmaker claimed that senator Moi owns huge shares in one of the TV stations that was shut down and that he is using the committee to advance his selfish interests.

Duale advised CS Mucheru not to appear before the Gideon Moi led committee, saying that some of the issues the committee members want answered to are waiting determination in the High court.

Last week, Mucheru failed to appear before the committee forcing it to reschedule the summons to Monday.

The ICT CS also snubbed the Monday  summons on grounds that he was engaged in serious official matters and would only be available next week.

Mucheru has now been summoned to appear before the Senate ICT committee on Monday next week.
