[Photo: Aden Duale]Muslims in the North Rift region have cautioned National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, after he allegedly insulted Chief Kadhi, during the marking of Ramadan, Sunday June 25.Led by area CIPK branch chairman Sheikh Abubakar Bini, the leaders said Duale had no respect for religious leaders, which is disrespectful.According to the leaders, the Garissa Township lawmaker overstepped the path, by attacking an appointed Muslim leader, to an extend of politicising Ramadan and his office."We want to tell Duale that he is not the spokesperson of the Muslim community. He is the spokesperson of the Jubilee government and should know his lane. He should have respect for our Chief Kadhi. What he said yesterday about the Muslim leader is demeaning and disrespectful," said Bini, Monday.Speaking in Eldoret, the leaders further asked Duale to apologise to the Chief Kadhi, or face disciplinary action.During the end of Ramadan, Duale joined thousands of Muslim faithful in EID prayers at Sir Ali Sports ground, attended by Muslim scholars and Imam's. "It's irresponsible and out of order for the Kenyan Chief Khadhi to mislead and divide the Muslim Umma using an office created by the constitution under article 170 for the unity and interest of the Muslim.""The Chief Khadhi can not work in isolation of the Muslim leaders and organizations when making a decision on the destiny of the Umma," said Duale. He had attacked Kadhi, saying the moon was sighted in Habeswein (Wajir County), Marsabit County and Kipini (Lamu County) among many other parts of the country as well as many Muslim countries including Saudi Arabia.
