Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has warned politician in government and opposition allegedly trying to frustrate the unity talks between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Duale claims certain forces are against the handshake and are out to frustrate it.
Speaking to journalists in Nairobi on Saturday, Duale asked politicians in opposition and government to support President Kenyatta and Raila as they unite the country.
He said that there is no point for politicians to start debates and propaganda n regards to the famous handshake.
Duale said that they have no option but to follow Uhuru and Raila orders.
“We must put our differences aside and support President Kenyatta and Raila as they unify the country,” the leader of majority in the National Assembly said as quoted by a local daily.
Duale defended the handshake saying it means well for Kenyans.
The leader of the majority in the National Assembly said that the country is sharply divided and individual politicians must work to bring Kenyans together.
He asked Kenyans to shun politicians who are spewing propaganda in regards to the handshake.
A section of opposition politicians has been questioning the Uhuru-Raila famous handshake.
The politicians claim that the handshake is irrelevant after President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga failed to stop Canadian based Miguna Miguna’s second deportation.
The politicians have been quoted asking Raila to denounce the handshake and continue the push to liberate the country.
