Garissa Town MP Aden Duale has urged Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua to join President Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee Party ahead of the forthcoming 2017 polls.
Duale says that Karua will increase her chances of being in government if he works with Uhuru, noting that the Narc Kenya leader will not benefit if she opts to work with the Raila Odinga led opposition.
“We will continue to ask Martha Karua and others to consider working with Jubilee Party as we head to the 2017 polls,” he said.
Duale, who spoke on Citizen TV on Sunday, said that Karua has political experience that she needs to utilize by serving Kenyans in government.
Karua has already declared interest to vie for the presidential seat in 2017.
However there are claims that she might shelve her presidential ambition and run for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat in the coming elections.
Karua, a close ally of Cord leader Raila Odinga, has been spotted at some of the opposition key events and sources say that she might cross over to the opposition.
The opposition is said to be 'courting' Karua for it to get some of the central Kenya votes in 2017.
In August this year, Karua turned down calls by some Central Kenya leaders pleading with her to join the newly launched Jubilee Party.
Karua, who contested for the presidential seat in 2013, said that her party will work independently ahead of the 2017 general elections.
