The debate as to whether Aden Duale should shift to Balambala constituency should come as good news to the opposition's Farah Maalim.
That the clan failed to agree on Duale's next stop-over is a clear indication that Farah is the person to watch come 2017 elections.
Political analysts say Garissa Township Constituency is the most strategic of all the North Eastern constituencies, raising numerous queries as to why the Abduwak Clan is considering to have the incumbent MP vie in Balambala constituency.
A number of Garissa residents suggest that the clan is afraid of Maalim's growing influence in the area ad it will be a humiliation for the clan to lose Duale in the regional politics.
"To cushion the community from losing the seat, the clan is contemplating of having Duale in Balambala, a consituency that does not have stiff competition," said a resident who sought anonymity.
However, the residents also argue that Duale will have a hard task ahead if he opts to remain in Garissa Town.
