[Photo|PSCU]National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has written to the office of the controller of budget, asking him to ensure county assemblies do not divert public funds. The Jubilee Garissa Township lawmaker asked the controller of budget to make sure all the county assemblies especially in opposition's NASA support bases do not use public funds to sponsor NASA's People's Assembly motions.According to Duale, there was a possibility that the assemblies would set aside a kitty from the monies collected as tax at the county level, to fund opposition activities instead of engaging in development projects. The motion which NASA intends to use to ensure reforms in the country, has been disposed to at least 19 counties. Several county assemblies have since passed the motion and are awaiting implementation. Some of the assemblies include: Kisumu, Busia, Bungoma, Kakamega, Homa Bay, Vihiga, Siaya, Makueni among others.
