National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has said that Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has no right to give President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto ultimatums.
Speaking in response to National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga’s planned swearing in; Duale said that the Ukambani political kingpin needs to reorganize the affairs of his outfit ahead of 2022.
He also asked the former vice president to look for ways of outgrowing the influence of Raila before he can contest against Ruto when that time comes.
“Kalonzo cannot give an ultimatum to the President. He needs to organize himself and his party as an opposition outfit for the next five years, outgrow the political shadow of Raila and prepare to face Mr. Ruto in the 2022 presidential election,” he said," he said, as quoted by a local daily.
The leaders from the opposition have, however, maintained that they will fight to ensure that President Uhuru leaves power before 2022.
According to the leaders, Jubilee retained power through unconstitutional means.
They have vowed to push for Raila and Kalonzo to take an oath of office before the duo complete its second term in office.
