National Majority Leader Aden Duale has asked Jubilee supporters to reach out to National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters, and remind them of the need for peace following the rerun.

In an opinion piece published by Capital FM, Duale said that time has come for Kenyans to forget about their political differences and forge ahead with life.

He argued that it does not matter whether one believes that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto won fairly or not but what is important is peace.

Duale, who has been a vocal critic of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, also said that peace is very paramount for this nation following the electioneering period.

“Remind them that we are all Kenyans, regardless of which political side they support, whether they voted or not. That we are still brothers and sisters united by our common motherland and that we need to now unite and build the country. Because that is exactly what we should be doing. Preaching peace, calling for unity,” read part of the post.

This is after Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared President Uhuru the winner of the rerun.
