Garissa Township Constituency has been voted as the best constituency in management and use of Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The constituency that is under the stewardship of National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale emerged the leading among the 290 constituencies in the utilization of CDF monies that were allocated within the last three years.
Tongaren came second after Duale, followed by Mukurweini, Sotik and finally Marakwet West which featured at top performers.
Turkana South was ranked sixth closely followed by Alego Usonga, Laikipia West, North Horr and then Msambweni.
The audit report that was prepared by the CDF Board considered economic and financial service delivery, operational management, dynamic and other non-financial indicators.
However, Garissa Township MP Duale attributes his constituency's exceptional results to his constituents who manage the funds at ward levels.
"The Garissa Township CDF committee comprises of people with integrity. Constituents oversee the projects financed by the fund," Duale states.
The MP further said that among the eighteen constituencies in North Eastern region, his Township featured badly in the repayment of loans that had been borrowed by women.
He said the monies were to be given to citizen groups that exhibited discipline and commitment to repay.
