The leader of Majority in the National assembly, Aden Duale on Friday congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta for meeting Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
In a tweet Duale noted that by meeting Odinga, the President was working on uniting the country, promoting reconciliation and national healing.
Before the grand meeting,there had been calls from different factions that the two leaders engage in national dialogue.
Religious groups, political leaders, diplomats and different unions have been pushing for the talks since last year.
Meanwhile,the two leaders met on Friday at the Harambee House where they discussed various issues affecting the country.
Addressing the media after the meeting, President Kenyatta and Odinga announced that they had agreed to work on uniting the country and ensuring that devolution works.
