Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has lauded residents for endorsing his re-election, saying it is right decision towards development realization.
Speaking to journalists at Garissa Town on Wednesday, Duale said that his re-election means a lot, adding that he will not let residents down.
Duale said that he will work to fulfill the interests and welfare of locals without discrimination.
“I am humbled by Garissa people’s decision to endorse my re-election and promise to work for them tirelessly,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
The Garissa Township MP elect also pledged to lobby for more funding to the national government for equitable development.
At the same time Duale congratulated his fiercest rival Farah Maalim for the good fight he exhibited.
“He (Maalim) put on a spirited fight but Garissa people had already made their choice, I urge him to try another day,” he said.
Duale retained his seat easily garnering 22,587 votes against Maalim’s 14,897 votes.
