Garissa MP Aden Duale has asked NASA leaders to move on and wait for the 2022 general election.
Speaking at the Milimani law courts on Tuesday, Duale advised NASA politicians to stop political bickering and give Jubilee government time to serve Kenyans.
Duale said that the 2017 general election was free, fair and credible based on petition rulings that have been so far.
The National Assembly leader of Majority said that it is wrong and malicious for the opposition to continue claiming that Jubilee is illegitimately in power.
“It is evident that last year’s general election was free and fair and our friends in opposition should stop this narrative that Jubilee is an illegitimate regime,’’ he said.
The Garissa Township MP said that it is time opposition dropped its petty issues and support Jubilee government development agenda.
Duale said that time is moving very fast, adding that the opposition will have a chance again in 2022.
“We must forget about 2027 and support each other in delivering services to Kenyans,” he added.
The opposition has maintained that last year’s presidential election was not credible and that Jubilee government is illegitimately in power.
The NASA leaders are now pushing for electoral reforms agenda with aim of ending electoral fraud, police impunity and manipulation of election results.
Last month, NASA leader Raila Odinga took oath as the people’s president.
Raila has maintained that he does not recognize Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency.
Pressuring has been mounting on President Kenyatta and Raila to dialogue on reforms agenda.
