Majority Leader Aden Duale has pledged to bring a punitive bill in parliament that will see that the corruption level in the country is dealt with accordingly.
Speaking at the burial ceremony of the late mother of the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi at Kanyuambora Secondary School in Embu County over the weekend, the Garissa Township MP has promised that the Legislators will empower the investigating entities of the country in dealing with pervasive corruption in the country by enacting strict laws in the houses.
“The two Houses will consult on how to change laws and give more powers to the offices of Auditor General, Director of Public Prosecutions, Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in a bid to intensify the fight against corruption,” he said.
The vocal Jubilee Politician has further pleaded with the head of state to grant the Parliamentary Committees an automatic autonomy in monitoring the excess of the Executive and the corrupt individuals in the country.
The pronouncements of the Majority Leader come at a time when the country is grappling with various scandals that have rocked various departments of the government among them NYS heist, where the department is alleged to have lost 9 billion through dubious contracts.
