The lawmaker will have to pitch tents in different parts of the constituency in order to defeat the force of the National Super Alliance (NASA) after  Wiper and ODM agreed to rally behind Maalim.

Maalim and Duale, who are relatives have been launching attacks against each over the leadership of this region. On his part, Maalim argues that Duale has done little to change the lives of the residents of this part of the nation.

The aspirant has pledged to transform Garissa Town if he is given the mandate to become the next boss. Maalim will be banking on the support of  Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga and Wiper Party Patron Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to rise to power when that time comes.

With support of Wiper and ODM parties, Maalim will not be a pushover in the forthcoming general elections.  Duale has, however, exuded confidence that he will beat Maalim hands down during the polls.

The legislator argues that his close relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto has made his area to realize massive development following the last general elections.

The MP notes that Jubilee government has not only offered his people jobs but also improved infrastructure in various corners of Garissa.
