Two people of Kamba origin have reportedly been attacked in Garissa town barely a week after an explosive audio purportedly emanating from National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
Duale, who has since denied the allegations, is accused of inciting Garissa locals against Kamba community living in Garissa.
On Sunday, former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim said he had received information on the attack of two people believed to be from Akamba community.
“I have information that already two people have been attacked in Garissa. They come from Kamba community and that is what is going on,” he said.
“Duale’s remarks could trigger more violence if the government keeps silent on the issue. He should be arrested to Pay for his evil actions so that Kenyans liv e in peace and that is what the police should have done long ago,” added Maalim.
The two leaders are embroiled in a stiff political battle with Maalim having an upper hand of winning Kamba votes in Garissa, having defected to Wiper Party which has a support base at Ukambani region.
