The two politicians are now pointing accusing fingers at each other over the contents of the video. Just as the video emerged, Maalim was one of the very first high ranking Garissa politicians to fault the video, criticising Duale for propagating cheap politics that would tear the county apart.

On his end, Duale directed blame to 'his opponents' for creating a fake recording to taint his name even as the electioneering period draws nearer by every sunrise.

Duale adds that the the person behind the whole thing is a bygone politician trying to become relevant in regional politics.

"The cheap audio is the work of a bygone era politician whose main project is to cook fake news which has unfortunately collapsed miserably," posted the MP on his social media account.

For sometime now, the two rivals have been reading on two dissimilar scripts given the fact that they are contesting for one seat.

Furthermore, they are allied to two antagonist parties; the ruling Jubilee and the opposition Cord coalition respectively.
