National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has said that politicians visiting former President Daniel Moi should not bank on it for 2022 elections.
Duale said after Opposition leader Raila Odinga met Moi at his Kabarak home.
According to Raila, the meeting was meant to wish Moi a quick recovery after under going surgery in Germany.
"Congratulations but this should not excite you. Your visit is just an extension of the handshake. Mr Speaker, today the handshake was in Kabarak ... it has moved from Harambee House. Those visiting Mzee Moi are allowed to go and tell him 'pole (sorry)' because he served us for 24 years. But those who intend to be in the 2022 race ... you don't need such visits ... face we who are on the other side," said Duale.
Duale further stated that the Raila Uhuru handshake will not affect the 2022 politics.
"But the Majority leader added that the March 9 handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta will have little impact on the next presidential election," Duale said.
