Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has warned NASA MPs, saying they will not be allowed to derail or delay Parliamentary proceedings and business.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, Duale said that the House business will continue whether NASA MPs will attend the sessions or not. Duale said Jubilee has the numbers to continue transacting House business, adding that NASA MPs will be doing a disservice to their constituents if they continue skipping the sessions.“We are not going to beg NASA MPs to attend the House sessions because that is not our work. Our's will be to continue discharging the House business as stipulated in law,” he said.Duale accused NASA top leaders of inciting their MPs not to attend important Parliament proceedings.He said failure by opposition MPs to take part in last week vetting of nominated Cabinet Secretaries painted a bad picture.The National Assembly Majority leader said that lawmakers have a duty to serve their constituents regardless of their political affiliations.Duale said he will raise the matter with the relevant parliamentary committees to have legal action taken against NASA MPs.He said MPs who skip or boycott parliamentary proceedings don’t deserve pay and allowances.NASA lawmakers boycotted the vetting of CSs last week and have vowed not to take part in the sessions that will debate the CSs nominees report.On Tuesday, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi asked NASA lawmakers to resign for absconding their key mandate.Members of Parliament resumed sessions on Tuesday after a month-long recess and are expected to debate a report by the Appointments committee on the nominated CSs.
