The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale has warned Peter Kenneth over Ruto's presidential candidature in 2022.
Duale welcomed Kenneth to Jubilee and assured him of free nominations.
"We welcome Peter Kenneth to Jubilee and assure him free and fair nominations,” said National Assembly Majority leader Duale.
"However, Duale was quick to warn Kenneth not to interfere with Jubilee's schedule of having Deputy President William Ruto as it's presidential flagbearer after Uhuru retires in 2022.
"Kenneth must be aware that as Jubilee, we have a strategic plan for 20 years. Ruto has what it takes to succeed Uhuru for 10 years," he was quoted on News24.
A section of political commentators have termed Kenneth's move to endorse Uhuru for a second term as a plot by Mt. Kenya region to groom Kenneth as Uhuru's successor.
Kenneth declared his support for Uhuru's re-election, announcing that he will contest for a gubernatorial seat, widely believed to be in Nairobi.
