Security personnel in Kisauni, are probing an incident in which a dummy hand grenade was discovered in one of the homes in the area on Sunday morning. A source revealed that the grenade was found in the residential home of a man identified as Manoah Obadi by his son who was cleaning the compound at the time, Baraka FM reports.The source also said the grenade might have been hurled into the man’s compound which is near a Madrassa during a training session.“We suspect this thing was being used by some individuals for training and when they hurled it into the compound of this man they feared to collect it,” said the source, as quoted by the daily.Police officers led by Kisauni police boss Christopher Rotich visited the scene and alerted a disposal squad which collected the grenade in a bid to carry out further investigations. Rotich, however, said the grenade is not harmful, adding that there is no need for tension.“It has no harm, it was not live but we are investigating the matter in conjunction with bomb experts,” said Rotich, as quoted by Baraka FM.Hand grenades are normally used during training of recruits at police training colleges.
