Dumping sites in Kibera have turned into grazing yards for animals in the area.
The odour in the sites has gone from bad to worse, something that can lead to various lung diseases due to the pollution that is caused in the air. The place has become filthy with different creatures walking in the garbage where children also play as there are no available play grounds.
The animals, mostly cows in the area have turned the dumping site into a grazing site as quite a lot of food stuffs are dumped there.
The foul odour smell from the dumping site at Mashimoni area where wastes has not been collected for the last 2 weeks has attracted animals such as cows, goats, sheep and even dogs to feed from such areas since some materials thrown such as vegetable remains attract the animals which are always hungry.
The residents in the area seem to be comfortable living in such a dirty environment as they have not complained about it.
