A group Dutch tourists were on Friday ambushed by a group of Pokot youth who carried crude weapons at the Laikipia Conservancy.

According to the Star, the group blocked the tourist's safari vehicle using boulders.

Harm Duiker, head of Dutch development organisation SNV,together with six others escaped unharmed during the incident.

They escaped unhurt after AP officers escorting the vehicle fired in the air to disperse the youth.
