Gor Mahia coach, Dylan Kerr, on Saturday asked the club to make families and Kenyans proud as they take on South African outfit, SuperSport United. The match is slated for today, Sunday, at 3 pm at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
''I have told my players they have a responsibility to go out there and give everything for themselves, families and all Kenyans," said Kerr.
The manager did not downplay the capability of the South African club and urged his side to take up the initiative and give everything for themselves.
"Even though SuperSport are doing indifferently in their league this year they have got something to prove. Remember, they had a final place in the Confederations Cup last year," he added.
Mr Kerr agreed that Gor will not have an easy time as they will have a big task if they are out to bring good results.
"It is a massive game because we are once again carrying the whole of Kenyan football and sports on our shoulders. We got a massive task ahead of us," the coach said.
Gor will be seeking to book a place in CAF Confederation Cup group stages, the continent's second-tier league when they take on SuperSport United in the first leg of the campaign.
Gor Mahia was relegated to the competition after they were edged out of CAF Champions league by Tunisian giant, Esperance de Tunis, on a 1-0 aggregate.
