Usonga Library located in Alego, Usonga is set to benefit from 50 e – books worth 1 million shillings donated by The World Reader Organization.

World Reader Organization assistant Manager Mr. Martin Omondi stated that each book contains 100 different books which totals up to 5000 books donated.

The books which contain the Kenya Primary and Secondary schools syllabus will seek to boost the academic performance of the students in the area as well as hugely impact on the education standards in the area.

Speaking in Lunyu village during the launch ceremony Mr Omondi said that the organization is sponsoring about 50 projects of the same nature in different institutions around Kenya.

“Western Kenya is one of the beneficiaries, about 8 libraries have already benefited from this project, we have already donated to Kakamega, Kisumu, Vihiga, Siaya and Busia counties,” he said.

Mr Omondi also stated that they are in the process of donating about 50 e-book readers in Kitale and Uasin – Gishu before the end of the month. He further challenged well-wishers to support their initiative to generally improve education standards in the country.
