The East African Breweries Limited (EABL) is the top employer of choice in Kenya.
This is according to the Deloitte Best Company To Work For (BCTWF) survey launched in July 2016.
Speaking after receiving the award, Paul Kasimu, Group Human Resource Director said, “the award further validates the Company’s consistent employer brand, having been among top 3 last year. The coveted award also attests to the hard work and commitment from all employees.”
The survey measured 10 parameters including Leadership, Operational Effectiveness, Inclusion, and Relationship with Manager/Supervisor, Fairness & Equity, Overall Job Satisfaction, Learning & Development, Values & Culture, Performance and Recognition as well as Remuneration.
“Business leaders must radically evolve their organizations to cope with a series of new disruptors. These include a range of demographic changes that have made the workforce, both younger and older; the rise of digital technology; the increased pace of change in business models; and a shift in the way the psychological contract between employer and employee works, with employers looking to move from employers for employer more frequently in the course of the careers,” said Rodger George, Advisory Leader for Deloitte East Africa.
During the BCTWF survey, a random stratified sampling process is used to focus on five demographic sets of data, namely level, gender, age, tenure and business unit.
The survey is analyzed by Actuaries in Deloitte South Africa and geared towards aligning an organization’s talent strategies to bridge the yawning gap between people and business needs. BCTWF surveyed a total of 167 organizations in Kenya.
Mr Kasimu, Head of HR at EABL, also said that it is their hope that their recognition as an employer of choice in Kenya will also be a magnet for new and promising talent in the world of work.
“We are constantly looking to employ individuals who demonstrate passion, commitment and a drive for results and in order to attract this calibre of employees, we need to demonstrate that they will find what they need here- in terms of career growth and progression, reward and recognition and of course a comfortable and conducive working environment.”
