EACC agents have arrested NACADA CEO, William Okedi.
Okedi was arrested in his office in an ongoing corruption probe, and is currently being held awaiting questioning at Integrity Centre in Nairobi.
According to the office of the DPP, Okedi is facing three different counts of charges involving millions of shillings at the agency.
In a statement sent to media houses, the DPP indicated that Okedi will be charged for failure to comply with the law relating to procurement
“by procuring a consultant, not in the prescribed method, for the management of Alcoholic Drinks Control Fund, and approving payment of KES 12.8 million to Ernest and Young without the prescribed interim and completion certificates by the Inspection and Acceptance Committtee." reads part of the statement.
Okedi was expected to be charged alongside five other members of NACADA on August 17.
