The Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission has been called upon to conduct a lifestyle audit on Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga.
Gem Lawmaker JakoyoMidiwo and his Rarieda counterpart Nicholas Gumbo have accused the governor of abuse of office..
According to the lawmakers, Rasanga’s lifestyle has changed to a more luxurious one ever since he was elected as governor back in 2013, something they attribute to the embezzlement of public funds meant for development of Siaya County.
“Just like in National Government, corruption is worse in county level. Anybody telling us to vote back Governor Rasanga must explain to us how this man who had nothing four years ago, today boasts of hundreds of millions of shillings and lives in a palatial home, where did he get the money from?” said Gumbo
Parliament’s Minority Leader, JakoyoMidiwo, accused the governor of buying palatial homes in Kisumu and Siaya Counties and even the USA.
“When we talk about the menace of corruption in the National Government, we will not keep quiet on Siaya County corruption,” said Midiwo.
