Speaking during a Leadership and Integrity workshop for members of Kitui County Assembly held at Lake Naivasha Country Club, EACC Deputy CEO Michael Mubea said the commission is swamped by the many cases they receive every day.

Mubea said the issue has been brought about by the shortage of staff, adding that they have 400 staff members, yet they require 2,400 staffers to tackle the huge backlog.

According to KBC, the commission has already started recruiting new investigators, to handle the ever increasing corruption cases.

“The commission has already recruited 60 new investigators and will continue to recruit more to deal with the backlog and the emerging cases,” said Mubea.
