Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday recovered Sh17million at the home of an NLC commissioner during a raid.

The body  raided the homes of chairman Muhammad Swazuri and other senior officials as part of a probe into claims land owners in the Standard Gauge Railway project were irregularly compensated.

"The commission recovered Sh17 million from one of the NLC staff during the morning raid," EACC tweeted.

After the raid, Swazuri was grilled at EACC headquarters at Integrity centre in Nairobi.

Last month, Swazuri was sent away from a parliamnetary seating after being termed a hostile witness.
