Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has said that EACC is free to investigate corruption claims in his government.
The county boss said he will not defend any staff engaging in corruption dealings which may derail his service delivery.
“Corruption is illegal and punishable by law. EACC is free to visit Nyamira County any time of their choice to investigate corruption allegations and if anyone is found guilty he or she must be arrested and taken to court for prosecution,” said the ODM governor.
Nyagarama challenged politicians in the county to stop misleading EACC officials by providing false information about corruption in the county.
“EACC is independent which is supposed not to be compromised by anyone. My rivals who are using EACC officials to taint the name of the county government should focus on helping my government to deliver quality services to improve the lifestyles of the people,” he said.
He assured that his administration will not condone corrupt officials who are after stealing public funds meant for development to fill their stomachs.
