This comes at a time when the nation is grappling with several scandals, including the multi billion shilling loss at the National Youth Service (NYS).

Speaking on Radio Jambo Monday evening, nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi accused the anti-graft chief of underperforming.

He challenged the former Anglican archbishop to up his game in the fight against corruption and perform in accordance with Kenyans expec and stop defrauding the taxpayer by drawing a salary for doing nothing.

"Wabukala afanye kazi na awache kunyamazia hili suala. EACC ni mahali pa kazi na sio pa kupokea malipo ya ustaafu (he should realize that he was placed in that office to work and not to earn retirement benefits)," he said.

The leader further called for keen observation into the commission which, he said, has proved inability to combat the menace.

According to Osotsi, the nation should consider disbanding the body over incompetence, saying that its responsibilities are better off with the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

"Mimi napendelea EACC ivunjwe ili nguvu zake zipewe vitengo vingine ambavyo vimwonyesha nia ya kufanya kazi (The commission should disbanded and its powers and resources should be allocated to other bodies), he added.

The nation is also battling scandals at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and the maize puzzle at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).
