The National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale challenged Rtd Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Archbishop Dr Eliud Wabukala to be more firm in the fight against corruption in the country.
This is after the National Assembly approved his name as the chairperson of the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC).
Duale asked him not to handle EACC as a religious organisation, same way he used to handle ACK followers and Christians, by politely talking to them.
"I want to tell this man of God that where he is going is not an Anglican Church. It is not a religious organisation either. It is a corruption fighting institution where corruption fights back. He should not be soft,'' Duale said at the House, Tuesday.
Wabukala becomes the first clergyman in the country to hold the position, and sixth holder of the post.
This followed the resignation of Philip Kinisu, after his firm, Esaki Ltd was linked to the Sh1.8 billion NYS scam in 2016.
