That staff of ethics and anti-corruption commission are asking for more salaries to enable them dispatch their duties well is simply outrageous and a big joke.
Salary increment should always be pegged to good and exemplary performance. What has EACC done to fight the rampant corruption in the country?
Salaries and renumeration commissions should not waste tax payers' money to give to those who have failed to deliver.
In fact, EACC will be stealing from Kenya if they added the 45% salary increment they are asking for. The best thing EACC staff should do first is manage the rampant corruption that is eating into our economy.
They should show us results without fearing or favouring the 'big fishes' in the government. As much as the assets and recovery agency is trying to recover stollen assets, let us see those 'thieves' arrested and charged for stealing public funds and property.
The moment Kenyans will be satisfied with the work the EACC is doing, they can now rightfully ask for salary increment.
