Kisii County Assembly Speaker Kerosi Ondieki has challenged the anti-graft agency to conduct more training and regular audits to enable them fight the vice.
According to the Speaker, more training will enable residents to understand the vice and join campaigns to end it.
Speaking on Monday at a Kisii hotel during a meeting between the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and MCAs, Ondieki said some of the residents are not aware of what corruption is all about so there is need for them to be educated to have a better understanding.
“There are some residents who do not know what corruption entails so we need them to be trained so that they can join hands to fight the vice through the focus of the commission,” said the Speaker.
He further urged the anti-graft agency to do regular audits which will help them in knowing how public resources are spend.
“Through more training and regular audits, I understand that it will help in the fight against the vice,” said Speaker
The commission is likely to launch its new office in Kisii on Wednesday which will serve three counties including Nyamira and Homa Bay.
