The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has kicked off a training programme targeting Members of County Assemblies on ethics and leadership.
This comes in the wake of a series of misconducts witnessed in a number of county assemblies across the country.
Patrick Owiny, the commission deputy director of ethics and leadership says MCAs are state officers and they are expected to comply with Chapter six of the Constitution both in their private and public life.
Owiny says the training is meant to enlighten the MCAs on what is expected of them as they carry out their duties.
Speaking in Kisumu during a training session for Siaya County Assembly MCAs from the Powers and Privileges Committee, Owiny says the Commission will target more county assemblies for the training.
Siaya County Assembly Speaker George Okode hailed the programme noting that MCAs are bound to benefit from the training.
