President Uhuru Kenyatta has congratulated Rtd Archbishop Dr Eliud Wabukala Wamukekhe for his appointment as the new Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

His appointment follows approval by the National Assembly and appears in a special issue of the Kenya Gazette published on January 18, 2017.

Uhuru wished Archbishop Wabukala success in his new assignment, noting that he is an eminently qualified and respected leader who will deliver his mandate at the helm of the EACC to the expectation of Kenyans.

Wabukala's entry to the anti-graft agency follows the resignation of Philip Kinisu, after his family company, Esaki Ltd, was linked to the infamous 1.8 billion NYS scam last year.

The clergy has since vowed to work closely with stakeholders to ensure the fight on corruption is a success restore credibility of the tainted institution.
