EACC vice-chairperson Sophia Lepuchirit [Photo/Business Daily] The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has requested leaders to implement safeguards against the misuse of public resources.
According to EACC vice-chairperson, Sophia Lepuchirit, corruption remains a big issue in Kenya.
Lepuchirit was in attendance as Governor Hassan Joho and his Deputy William Kingi took their oaths of office and insisted that it is vital that leaders adhere to the leadership and integrity code to help in the fight against corruption.
“It is a promise that he will discharge his leadership responsibilities in a way that will ensure transparency, accountability, efficiency and effectiveness in management of public affairs,” she added as reported by the Daily Nation.
The vice-chairperson further announced her support of the county government to carry out the tasks required.
“The commission will give all the necessary support to the county government to enable you to succeed so as to benefit Mombasa residents and Kenyans,” she said.
