The eagerly awaited meeting between IEBC and officials of the two political factions Jubilee and NASA has failed to take place.
The meeting scheduled for Wednesday afternoon was greatly anticipated to unlock the deadlock surrounding the date and supervision of the fresh presidential poll.
It is said that both coalitions decided to cancel the meeting - which was to be chaired by IEBC boss Wafula Chebukati - saying they would instead follow the Supreme Court's full judgment over the August 8 presidential election.
In a statement, Chebukati said he had held consultations with both sides of the political divide and that they had decided to reschedule the meeting.
"Following consultations and consensus, it was agreed that the joint consultative meeting that IEBC, NASA and Juilee were to hold at Bomas of Kenya be postponed to a later date," Chebukati said.
"This will allow the parties to consider issues from the detailed judgement by the Supreme Court. The ruling will inform discussions on preparations for fresh polls," he added.
