It was early charismas for pupils under Ring Road Ministries schools after they were given foodstuff as they close for the long holidays.
Ring Road Ministries Director Jared Oriadha said the pupils, mostly orphans and from less privileged homes, were benefiting from three meals a day in the school at Nyalenda and in Nyakach.
Oriadha said that as the schools close, it will be difficult for the children to get food thus the need to give them food stuff.
“Our pupils get their breakfast, lunch and supper from school. When we close, it gets difficult and that is why we are giving them enough food to last them for some time,” he said.
He said they will give them new school uniforms when schools re-open in January next year.
“We have given them maize flour, rice, cooking fat and other foodstuff to enable them enjoy Christmas,” he said.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu, Oriadha announced that he has allocated Sh 3 million for next year’s school fees to students in secondary schools.
He added that more food will be given to people living with HIV/Aids under their health programme this Friday. A total of 110 of such people will benefit from food for early Christmas.
“We have a component of health where we register people living with HIV/Aids. They will also benefit from these food rations,” he said.
