[Photo|Thika Town Today]A City Shuttle passenger bus overturned in Nairobi, injuring several people on Wednesday morning.The accident outside I&M Bank and ICEA building junction saw the 56-sitter bus hit a personal vehicle after ignoring traffic lights, rolling on the road.The Kenya Red Cross Society confirmed the early morning accident saying the injured were taken to Kenyatta National Hospital by its Emergency Medical Services ambulance.The Kenyatta Avenue accident caused heavy traffic snarl up in the capital city.The police and breakdown services arrived and towed the ill-fated bus.
The accident comes hours after 36 people sustained serious injuries on Tuesday following an accident at Maanzoni area, in Machakos County.This is after the bus they were traveling in veered-off the road landing in a ditch along Nairobi-Mombasa road.The accidents came few days after 37 people perished in a grisly road accident at Migaa area in Nakuru on December 31. NTSA has been put on spot over these accidents.
