Penile cancer is a rare cancer that affects the tissues and skin of the penis. It occurs when the cells of tissue undergo uncontrolled proliferation hence forming tumors. Penile cancer is highly curable when diagnosed on time, however most people fall victim to this particular cancer generally because they are clueless about its early signs.
According to Steve Kim, MD, here are early signs of penile cancer
Ulcer on the penis
This is the first apparent and noticeable sign. In this case, open sores appears on the foreskin which are small, insignificant bump or sometimes large in size. This is an indicator that penile cancer is developing. See a doctor before the situation gets out of hand.
Itching
itchiness on the area of the penis can be as result of candidiasis. Normally, the itchiness is experienced at the foreskin or the head of the penis. Moreover, this condition is also associated with penile cancer. Actually, do not ignore this condition. Take early precautions before it worsens.
Burning
You might experience burning sensation during urination or just around the genital area. Medically, this condition is associated with other health problems like urethritis. However, it is also reported that, burning sensation is an early sign of penile cancer that you should never ignore.
Thickening of the penile skin
If you have noticed any abnormal growth, thickening of the penile skin, this is a clear indication that you are victimized by penile cancer.Take early precautions.
Foul smell discharge
The discharge is in form of a urine which stings the nose is produced. Foul smell discharge is also associated with kidney stones, but not common in men. It is an early sign of penile cancer that you should pay attention to.
Redness(red rash)
Red rash on the foreskin of the penis can be brought about by yeast infection, candidiasis. Apart from candidiasis, redness is also associated with penile cancer. It is an early sign of penile cancer.
Other signs include bleeding, irritation, penis changes in the color of the penis and swollen lymph nodes in the groin.
